Contemplative Prayer Teaching

March 26 @ 7:00 PM - 8:15 PM

Contemplative Prayer: Teaching

Exploring other spiritual disciplines

During the season of Lent, Tuesday’s contemplative prayer and teaching time will focus on writings from The Wisdom Jesus by Episcopalian priest and author Cynthia Bourgeault. Jesus was a wisdom teacher. He stayed close to the ground of wisdom: the transformation of human consciousness. After meditation each evening, we will spend the remainder of the time exploring this idea and enter into a spiritual practice relating to the Wisdom Jesus.

This Tuesday’s focus from The Wisdom Jesus will be “Putting on the Mind of Christ.”

Each Tuesday from 7 – 8:15 PM in the Chapel, we learn other ways to enter into contemplative prayer. We believe that contemplative prayer is a gift or a grace from God and that there are many ways to enter into that gift. We focus not only on meditation but also on other contemplative spiritual practices, discussions and readings. Following this time of exploration, there is space and silence to process and share individual experiences.
