DESCRIPTION:With Father David Peck\nand Professor Randall Zachman\nEntirely on Zoom \nNow in its seventh year\, the 2026 Mercy Seminar invites you to explore the profound insights that different faith traditions offer about embracing life and navigating death with grace. How can the certainty of death inspire us to cultivate a deeper focus and a heart full of gratitude\, transforming potential feelings of anxiety into a courageous appreciation for the present moment? Is death merely “nothing at all\,” or does it open the gateway to an eternal adventure beyond this life? \nJoin us as we delve into selected sacred readings from Hindu\, Buddhist\, Jewish\, Christian\, and Muslim scriptures\, along with enlightening contemporary secular spiritual writings. Together\, we will uncover the wisdom that encourages us to live our best lives and face death not with fear\, but with hope and understanding. \nIn term three (September 24 – October 29)\, we will focus on Christian understandings of resurrection and eternal life\, beginning with the hope of future resurrection life in Paul’s letters and the expectation of eternal life now in the Gospel of John. We will follow the development of these themes in Christian and Spiritualist traditions\, including Emanuel Swedenborg’s provocative visions of the soul’s journey after death. \nClasses meet on six consecutive Thursday evenings via Zoom from 7:00 to 8:30 PM EST. Each term stands alone\, but when taken together\, offers a layered understanding as our knowledge of the issues increases. He has also trained in the following martial arts: grappling\, Shotokan Karate\, Wudang Karate\, Wing Chun\, Judo\, Xingyiquan\, Bagua\, and Aikido. He was awarded 16 top medals in regional\, national\, and two gold medals in international competitions. He has attended seminars and studied with some of the most well-known Tai Chi masters in the world\, some with direct connections to the founder of the Yang Family style. These include Yang  Zhen Dao\, Yang Jun\, Fu Shen Yuan\, Yang Jwing Ming\, and Shou Yu Liang.

DESCRIPTION:Children’s Chapel* meets weekly during the 10:30 AM Sunday Mass. Children and youth ages 3 and above begin the morning in the sanctuary where they can experience the processional and the opening congregational prayers. \nAfter the opening Collect\, children are invited to the front of the sanctuary to make their way to the chapel and participate in songs\, prayers\, brief meditation and storytelling of the day’s Gospel and/or New and Old Testament readings. \nThe Godly Play® teaching method includes using beautiful wooden figures\, candles\, and symbolic colors to aid our storytelling as we listen to God’s word for us. Children often respond to the story using simple art supplies including crayons\, construction paper\, origami paper and Model Magic air dry clay. \nChildren return to the Sanctuary during the passing of the Peace. They are welcome to take part in Holy Communion.
