Faith, Food and Fellowship
Getting to Know Your Fellow Parishioners
What better way to get to know your fellow parishioners than by sharing a meal with them! Dinner for Eight, Table for Six, and Just Lunch meet to share a potluck or restaurant meal while engaging in deeper conversation and community. Sign-up begins in September, and groups typically meet from October through May. Can’t participate in food, faith, and fellowship? Look for our other themed events scheduled throughout the year. Contact Sue Mackey for more information.
Just Lunch is a new opportunity for those who prefer a social gathering at midday instead of in the evening. The gatherings can be in members’ homes or in a restaurant, midweek, Saturday or Sunday after church.
TABLE FOR SIX
For those who enjoy socializing without the need to cook or host in your home, Table for Six is an opportunity to spend time together dining out with fellow parishioners. We suggest that groups decide together what restaurants they would enjoy, rotate the responsibility of making the reservation, and ask for separate checks.
DINNER FOR EIGHT
Dinner for Eight is small groups of 8-10 persons sharing simple meals and fellowship. The intention is to have fun and provide an opportunity for us to meet each other and become better acquainted. Households rotate the responsibility of hosting — providing the space and usually the main course. The host also organizes what others should bring to round out the meal – an appetizer, salad, bread, dessert or drinks. We will have some family friendly groups and we encourage parents with children to sign up.
