Mission Trip to Potter County | July 7 - 13, 2024
For the past several summers, a dedicated team of parishioners from Saint James and other local parishes have headed to Potter County in the northern tier of Pennsylvania to work with the local Habitat for Humanity chapter. This summer's trip, from July 7 - 12 included the completion of seven projects of varying sizes for local homeowners along with other tasks around All Saints Brookland. Relationships were formed and renewed, prayers were prayed, much food was consumed, and community was built along with the various projects completed.
Intergenerational Nature Hike | June 8, 2024
Families of all ages enjoyed an enriching morning with a dedicated naturalist from Lancaster County Park's Environmental Center where they learned about our local environment and how we can care for it. Creek wading, exploration and discovery were key in understanding how little creatures support our water supply. After the hike, the Mission & Justice committee provided drinks and paper products for participants' packed lunches.
World Refugee Day | June 20, 2024
Held in collaboration with Church World Service, the evening focused on refugee journeys and began with a dinner catered by the Koshary Station in Millersville, followed by refugee story-telling, a dessert reception in the narthex and an interfaith gathering with local faith leaders and Joel Makeci & The New Generation Gospel Band.
