The Book of Psalms

The Fall Forum Hour continues with a series focused on The Book of Psalms. Psalms are an integral part of our worship; we sing a psalm during every communion service. Throughout history, from the time of the desert mothers and fathers to the present, the psalms have been central to Christian prayer. The Book of Common Prayer includes its own translation of all 150 Psalms to enrich the prayer life of the Episcopal Church. However, do we take the time to study and reflect on what we are praying in the Psalms and whose voices we are echoing in our prayers?

The Spirit of Religious and Civic Liberty

This spring's Forum Series will examine the intimate relationship between religious and civic freedom, as it led up to the American Revolution. We will examine selections from the writings of Roger Williams, William Penn, George Whitefield, and others, concluding with John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and George Washington. Available in person and via Zoom.
