Traditional liturgies with families in mind
Journey with other families through Camp Holy Week! Each year we celebrate the Triduum by gathering together daily to remember the sacred mysteries of our three holiest days—Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday. Throughout the days we recount Jesus’ last supper, his death and ultimately his resurrection, remembering the great mystery of faith:
Christ has died,
Christ is risen,
Christ will come again.
Saint James creates each of the Holy Week liturgies with families in mind.
Maundy Thursday Family Mass
Our Maundy Thursday celebration includes readings, music, foot washing, and Eucharist in the chapel.
Bible Foods Dinner
Come and experience our Bible Foods Dinner in the parish house forum room after the family foot washing service or before our traditional Maundy Thursday service. Traditionally, we serve lamb and fish, and everyone brings a biblically-inspired side dish or dessert to share potluck style.

Good Friday Family Stations of the Cross
Follow Jesus from the Garden of Gethsemane to his death on the cross in this solemn Good Friday service. We will pause at each station in the churchyard to read and to pray with Jesus in his journey to the cross. The service is structured with children and families in mind, but all are welcome. We’ll gather in the cloister to begin our journey.
Children’s Chapel during the Easter Vigil
The first and central liturgy of Easter begins in holy darkness out of which the Easter fire is kindled and candles are lit. We recount from our scriptures the saving works of God. Children will hear Godly Play stories in Children’s Chapel and rejoin the congregation to celebrate the Eucharist.
Easter Sunday Celebration and Egg Hunt
All are welcome to celebrate Easter in the Forum Room at 9:30AM. We will have food, fellowship, and fun for all! Our annual Easter Egg Hunt should begin after the 8:30 AM Mass has concluded.
Gather in the Forum Room, and children will be invited into the churchyard by age groups. The egg hunt organizer has devised a genius color-coded system to ensure that each child searches for and finds a dozen eggs. Bring your Easter baskets to hold the treat-filled eggs that your child will find.
