Annual Parish Retreat
Treasured Journey, A year-long celebration of history and faith
Exploring the path of faith, community and sacred gifts over 275 years
The value of history for the people of Saint James cannot be underestimated. Nor can the value of Saint James to the wider community be underestimated as our 275th Anniversary Exhibition at Lancaster History makes clear. The exhibit tells the story of a truly treasured journey. Through our church’s history, its sacred treasures, and its social witness across three centuries, we see how God is at work in all our lives.
Discovering how God is at work in our lives will be the theme of our Parish Retreat on Saturday October 5th. Every age group, with new parishioners and seasoned ones, will together rejoice in the history that grows out of our common prayers. We will be inspired by those who got it right; we will learn from those who got things wrong; we will laugh, play, eat, and pray together across the beautiful grounds of the campus and arboretum of Lancaster History. The Founders’ Day Gala on Thursday October 3rd, will be a party with a purpose as we thank those whose talents and generosity made the exhibition possible as a gift to the wider community as well as the whole parish.
